Lee National Denim Day and the Susan G. Komen Foundation
My thanks to my friend, Gwen Kegley, for pointing out the link to this information about Lee's National Denim Day in support of Breast Cancer research. I present it here in the hope that any of you who may wish to encourage your organization to participate will do so.

My own interest in this cause is, of course, prompted by the fact that my ex-wife, Carole Green, is now waging her own battle with Breast Cancer.

Lee National Denim Day and the Susan G. Komen Foundation:

"Lee National Denim Day is the world's largest single-day fundraiser for breast cancer. On one Friday in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, LeeĀ® Jeans encourages millions of people nationwide to slip into their favorite jeans and make a $5 donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Participating businesses and organizations allow employees and members to wear denim in exchange for a $5 donation to the Komen Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer. Since 1996, Lee National Denim Day has raised more than $52 million for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs."

Comments:
Please let your friends know that by wearing jeans, this is a way women AND MEN can support a cause that can effect them as well.
Gwen
